CWJ Rounders Team Extraordinaire

Baker Tilly Rounders Game - raised £1,010.19 for HarrisHospisCare.

A very fun but extremely competitive game by all accounts and our CWJ team came joint 4th playing against Baker Tilly, CIS Security, Networkers, Bromley MyTime, Thackray Williams and STC Energy.

  • Abi – our star player was never out.  Showing great determination she even ran after the gentleman who ran off with her target base during her run.
  • Yao – our bravest player, stopping the ball with her ankle, well we all know football is her real passion.
  • Jenny Hawrot – our most confused player – perhaps it was because the ball wasn’t oval.
  • Josie – our unluckiest player was nearly ‘taken out’ by an aggressive bowler’ who ran into her with great force at her base.
  • Sam Dale – our most reluctant to play player, who tried to knock herself out before the game by head butting the car as she got out.
  • Sam Mann – liked to play ‘DIRTY’!
  • Grace – our funniest player, mistook a fielder for a base player, standing behind him for a few moments before realising her mistake.

Special thanks to Grace and Sam Dale who also surrendered their burgers and sausages as a bribe to entice other players on to our team.

And a rematch is already (un)likely on these terms ….

Sam Dale received an email this morning regarding the rematch from Clive Silvester of Networkers International plc (who was one of the players bribed to play on the CWJ team helping us to win the last match).

“…It’s very likely that due to a rise in inflation we’re going to need far more than burgers and alcohol in order for our services to be acquired!?!?! I’m thinking free legal advice for an 18 month period, a couple of those dapper CWJ T-shirts and some Nandos vouchers”
