Faye Shortall
Faye graduated from the University of Brighton in 2011 with a degree in Law with Business then studied the LPC at the College of Law, finishing in 2013. Faye qualified as a solicitor in September 2018 at another Kent law firm and joined CWJ’s Employment department as a solicitor in May 2023.
Faye advises both individual and commercial clients on all aspects of employment law. This includes managing day-to-day employment issues such as disciplinary, ill-health, redundancy, and grievance procedures; advising on dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing claims including representation in the Employment Tribunal; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating settlement agreements and severance packages; advising on post-termination restrictions and drafting, reviewing, and advising on employment contracts, consultancy agreements and company policies and procedures.
Faye understands the importance of getting to know her clients, and their business needs, and this allows her to develop strong relationships with clients and provide a practical resolution to any issues they are having. Whether dealing with contentious or non-contentious work, attention to detail is key and Faye is always thorough in the advice that she provides whilst ensuring that it is concise and easy to understand.
In her spare time Faye enjoys spending time with family and friends and keeping active. She has completed the London Marathon twice, as well as other local running events ranging in distance from 10k to half marathons and has also taken part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride. Faye has also recently started to take classes in Latin and Ballroom dancing.
